Weekly Expedition Log: The Half-Stitch Ascent

Weekly Expedition Log: The Half-Stitch Ascent

Current Marble Count: 5 Investment / 3 Trash (This week's marble: Investment)

I’m counting this week as an Investment, though my Cronometer app might disagree. I managed to kit up and get out four days this week—a significant jump in volume. My quads are currently screaming a Greek tragedy, and my 56-year-old lower back is wondering if we could just go back to sitting on the couch watching documentaries about people more active than us. We didn't.

However, I'll be the first to admit my "Pack Light" protocol took a hit on the documentation side. I logged my fuel and hydration for two days, then basically treated my phone like a radioactive rock for the rest of the week. I was too busy grinding out the miles to worry about the macros.

The Protocol Check: I found that when I increase the physical output, my mental bandwidth for data entry drops. To combat this, I’m testing a "Pre-Log" strategy next week. If the fuel isn't in the app before it's in my mouth, it doesn't count. I’m looking to put the full kit together: the 4-day movement baseline plus 7 days of 1:1 data tracking. Movement without measurement is just wandering; measurement without movement is just bookkeeping. I'm aiming for the intersection.

Bank The Marble. Check the Rope.
